Not just the mangoes. The whole season — the smell when the first box was cut open, the arguments over the last slice, the juice running down your wrist because you couldn't wait for a plate. That feeling doesn't travel well.
We're from Andhra Pradesh. We grew up on Banginapally and Imam Pasand. When we came to the UK, the mangoes in the shops never came close. Picked too early, ripened artificially, sitting in cold storage for weeks. The fruit was there. The flavour wasn't.
So we went back to where it starts. Our family in India, with over 50 years of farming and sourcing knowledge, helped us find the right orchards. Farms that work the way farms used to: no harsh chemicals, no shortcuts, fruit picked when it's actually ready. We can't call it organic; the certification is complicated. But if you grew up in India eating mangoes from a tree in someone's yard, you'd recognise what we're bringing.
We don't just source. We source right. Every farm we work with is chosen for how they grow, not just what they grow. We're a small operation, still learning, still growing, but the intention behind every box is the same: to give people who grew up with real Indian mangoes a way to taste home again.
Why our fruit is different, and why that's hard to match on price
Most mangoes sold in the UK pass through pack houses with no direct oversight from the seller. The fruit gets cleaned in shared hot water baths alongside tonnes of other produce from different sources, packed, and shipped. Many sellers have no real relationship with the pack house; they're simply buying from a market and passing it on.
That's not always wrong. But it means no one is watching: the water quality, the hygiene standards, how the fruit is handled. None of it is in their control.
Our pack house in India is directly overseen by our family. We decide how the fruit is cleaned, how it's handled, and what standards are maintained throughout. That level of control is rare. It's why we don't compete on price with sellers who don't have it, because we're not offering the same thing.
We're not here to be the cheapest. We're here to give our community the fruit they actually deserve — handled with care, from people they can trust.
